At the Wapping Project is a restaurant cum art gallery set in a converted power station opposite the Prospect of Whitby (see entry in Andy's Beer Corner) in the Shadwell Basin. The turbines in this Grade 2 listed building provided power for raising the curtains in west end theatres, as well as power to raise and lower Tower Bridge. An art project which was being set up when I was there was a tree outside covered in yellow autumnal umbrellas, for instance. Their exhibitions change regularly. Food isn't the cheapest, but very good - modern european, and the setting is fantastic in a neo-industrial sort of way. There's also a very interesting little bridge nearby - plus the Prospect of Whitby across the road, of course!
