Sprague Thomson train

I began this article by describing what used to happen in the Paris Metro in the wee small
hours (from time to time, anyway), but then I check the relevant website and it seems the tours no
longer happens - the result of an un-named incident. I've left in the description below in
case they're ever re-started;

If you fancy a trip round the Paris metro at an hour when no-one else is allowed, then Ademas is the
association to contact - it stands for the Association D'Exploitation
du Matériel Sprague. Their aim is to "safeguard and emphasise the national heritage
represented by the rolling stock named Sprague-Thomson - old Metro trains.

Around midnight at certain times of the year a crowd gathers at a northern metro station and are
taken on an all-night history tour on one of the 1930s trains. A party is held on ghost
station platforms - stations that normally one isn't allowed to visit, and you may even
be accompanied by an organ grinder - beer and coffee are the drinks provided.

However, Ademas are now running other types of excursion within the Metro system - they're
organising walking history tours, ending up at a station not normally seen by travellers
- those currently being advertised on the Ademas Association website
are held on a Sunday during the day.

Happy metro'ing!
